Let’s learn about communication in the animal kingdom.

What is your favorite animal?  How do they communicate with each other or with humans?  What are some features they use to communicate?

Animals use different types of communication.

  • Auditory Communication: Using sound to send a message
  • Visual Communication: Using colors, dances, or some type of display to send a message
  • Olfactory Communication: Using smells, or odors, to send a message

You can use this Animal Communication Worksheet (print whichever pages work best for the age of your kids) and have them follow along with the video or you can save this for later.

Interesting, right?

Now, think about how we, humans, communicate.  We certainly don’t go around sniffing each other or change colors.  However, there are many ways we communicate with our bodies and by using technology such as phones and internet.

How can we use communication skills and tools to share Jesus and encourage others? (Use this time to help the kids think creatively about putting their new knowledge into action.  If you’d like, you can ask them to write something about how they want to grow or what they have done in the past)
