– Protecting and defending those who need help –
Have you ever been in a bad situation and somebody stepped in to help you? You probably felt relief and appreciation for the kindness you were shown. Standing up for the weak is a reflection of the kindness God has shown you. At your weakest (you were hopeless in your sins), God stood up for you to save you by paying a high price that you were unable to pay for yourself. It makes sense that He wants His children to learn to do the same on a smaller scale! He will give you the courage you need to stand for the weak; just ask Him and watch for the opportunity.
“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” – Proverbs 31:8-9 (ESV)
