– Doing what is right for you and the people around you and accepting the consequences of your actions –

Everyone likes to have influence and have others look up to them.  It feels good to be a leader when everyone does what you ask them to do.  But a good leader doesn’t just tell others what to do.  To be a good leader, you need to also think about what is right and good for everyone around you and then do your best to make those things happen.

“Consequences” are what happen because of the decisions you make.  There can be negative (bad) or positive (good) consequences.  Bad decisions lead to negative consequences and good decisions lead to positive consequences.  Being responsible means that you look at your decisions and learn from them instead of blaming others.

Remember this:  If you want to have authority (power to make decisions) then you also need to be responsible (accept the consequences of your actions).  Authority and Responsibility go together.

“When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” – Luke 12:48b (NLT)
