– Knowing that God loves me even when I mess up –
Even when we want to follow God and do what is right we mess up. You are not perfect. No one is – except God. But one of the greatest things about out God is that He still loves us even though we still mess up. An important part of following and submitting to God is understanding that we will make mistakes and we will need the mercy of God.
God’s mercy says I still love you even though you’ve messed up again. God’s mercy says I love you no matter what. God’s mercy tells you that there is always hope when I follow God. Submission to God is not about being perfect. It is about doing my best to follow God’s ways but getting back on track and joyfully following God even after I mess up because I know that God’s love and mercy is bigger than my mess.
“So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.“ – Hebrews 4:16 (TLB)
