Overcoming the fear of failure
– Not letting the fear of messing up hold you back –

Sometimes the thought of not not being able to do what you want to do can make you afraid.  Have you ever thought, “I can’t”, “What if I mess up”, or “I don’t know how”?

There are so many things that can make us afraid of new or difficult things.  But the only way to become great at anything is to keep trying and not worry about failing.  Everyone fails sometimes.  When you were a baby learning to walk you fell quite a lot.  But you didn’t stop getting up and trying again.  You kept trying and falling and trying again until you were able to walk.  Now you probably don’t even think about walking because you are so good at it.

God has some great things planned for you but you have to be willing to try even if you will start out failing.  Just start trying, get help, try some more, and don’t give up.  When you do your best as a gift for God you are already succeeding by giving a beautiful offering (gift) to God!

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
