– Encouraging others to be the best they can be –
Inspire means to “breathe into”. You can think of inspiration as what you put into someone else. You can inspire negative (bad) things by putting fear or anger in others. Or you can inspire positive (good) things by putting hope, courage, or love in others. Bad leaders use inspiration to manipulate (control) others for selfish reasons. Good leaders and friends inspire others for their benefit.
To inspire others you need to:
- Care for them and let them know that they are valuable
- Help them see something great in the future (a good goal)
- Encourage them that the effort it will take will be worth it
The greatest thing you can ever inspire anyone to is to help encourage, challenge, inspire them to become closer to the Lord. No matter what their journey is, their greatest potential (their greatest version of themselves) is found in Jesus. At the end for the day, that is really the most important thing we could do for anyone.
“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing..” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT)
